Our Privacy Commitment to You

At Snaptic, we understand the trust you place in us and our responsibility to protect your privacy, and as such we are committed to be open and transparent with you in communicating and discussing our policies. Snaptic values the privacy of those who use our web site and our products and services, and makes all commercially reasonable efforts to protect it.

We Make Smart Apps for People Like You!

In order to operate the Snaptic online services such as snaptic.com and data synchronization with Snaptic applications on your mobile device, some of your data is necessarily stored in our system. This Privacy Policy covers the management, use, and disclosure of data that may be stored when you interact with Snaptic, such as when you visit our website, use or purchase our products and services, or to communicate with Snaptic employees.

Your Privacy is Not for Sale

When you post data to the Snaptic sites, you are granting Snaptic permission to use and take other actions with respect to such data (as described in this Privacy Policy and in the Terms of Service), in order to provide Snaptic’s services. We do not share, sell, rent or otherwise distribute this data to other third parties, except as disclosed in this Privacy Policy.

Snaptic may share your data with others outside of Snaptic only under the following circumstances:

  • You give us explicit consent to share the data;
  • We need to share your data to fulfill your product or service request;
  • We wish to contact you with information about products and services from our business partners, which we may do unless you “opt-out” of such communications by contacting us via the contact form, or by clicking the unsubscribe link found within Snaptic email updates;
  • We have a good faith belief that sharing or otherwise permitting access, disclosure, use or preservation of such data is reasonably necessary in order to comply with our legal obligations;
  • You have explicitly requested information from Snaptic business partners, in which case it will be clear at the point of request who is storing the personal data and whose privacy statement will apply;
  • We believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or potential threats against persons or property;
  • We believe it is necessary to investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service, or to enforce those Terms of Service; or
  • We have a relationship with an affiliate or partner that you have an online or off-line (non-Internet) relationship with, or have visited the affiliate or partner’s web site that links to or mentions Snaptic’s web site, and have registered for Snaptic’s online services through the partner or affiliate’s program or web site.

Your Notes are Private

The security and privacy of your personal notes content is our top priority. We do not see your notes. We do not share your notes. Only you can access your notes, and only you can share your notes and make them publicly accessible.

Your Information is Confidential

Account information data like your email address, user name, account and contact preferences, etc., are considered strictly confidential. Snaptic may communicate with you regarding any changes to your account settings information, deliver product announcements, software updates and special offers, and improve the features and usability of our products. You may opt-out of communications with Snaptic. Registered Snaptic users can view and change their account settings information at any time by visiting the Snaptic account information page by signing in at http://snaptic.com and clicking on the “Settings” link. Unregistered users may still be able to use certain Snaptic web sites and services, in which case no account settings data is stored.

Continuing to Improve Your Experience

Snaptic looks at anonymous aggregate analytical data about visits from the browser or our application on computers or mobile devices, IP addresses, cookies, pages requested, where computer and mobile devices are used, geographic information, numbers of notes created, numbers of images uploaded, etc. for ways to improve. We analyze trends, administer the site, improve navigation of the site, gather broad demographic data for aggregate use for internal purposes. This anonymous data may be shared with partners (note that IP addresses are not linked to “personally identifiable data”).

You’re in Control of Your Stuff

You may elect to terminate your participation in the services at any time and/or delete information and material you have posted to any note. If you cancel your account, or delete any note or note content, it will no longer be accessible to you or others who may access the service that you may have shared content with, but there may continue to be residual copies of such data due to the nature of the computer system’s operation and ongoing data back-up and archiving.

What’s in a Name? You!

The Snaptic web site allows you to create a “Snaptic Username” based on your account settings data. This is required in order to take full advantage of the Snaptic services and any downloadable software products. It also allows Snaptic to provide more personalized and convenient service and saves time when you want to use the Snaptic services, update your software or settings, or search for Snaptic-related information.

Only You Can Share Your Stuff

Certain portions of the Snaptic web sites and services are open to any online viewer, such as user notes designated as “shared”. Any data that you post to shared is then publicly available data and can be read, collected and used by anyone, and could enable others to send you unsolicited messages. Snaptic enables you to determine whether or not to post personal or otherwise sensitive data to shared, and so you should carefully consider how you use the services. Snaptic is not responsible for any publication or use of any personal data you choose to post to shared.
